Jake — ISSA Certified Trainer
I've been bodybuilding for over 10 years and have trained clients at every level—from complete beginners to experienced athletes. I've been dieting and counting macros since high school, and I was on the path to becoming a manager at a vitamin store, so I learned a lot about supplements and how to use them effectively.
I've completed programs like FST-7 by Hany Rambod, Calum Von Moger's Mass program, and the 9-week Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer. I've tried workouts from Zyzz, Jeff Seid, and Larry Wheels, and I've used the Nike Training App for everything from Pilates to plyometrics to kickboxing. I've taken kickboxing classes, grew up in the mountains hiking and snowboarding, and I ran cross country—all of which built a solid cardiovascular base.
I found my love for strength training through football. I was always a gamer nerd, always pushing for top ranks in the top 5% of whatever game I played. I applied that same min-max mentality to weightlifting, and over years of slow progression I went from just having arms, to a balanced upper body, to having chicken legs, to finally being balanced, lean, and healthy.
My influences are the greats: Frank Zane, Lee Priest, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Greg Plitt, Lazar Angelov, Kai Greene, Calum Von Moger, Zyzz, David Laid, Jeff Seid, Tom Platz, Eddie Hall, and Brian Shaw. I study pro athletes' training programs out of curiosity so I can build better, more effective programs for my clients. The complexity of those advanced programs taught me how to create simple, purpose-driven training that works for health, flexibility, strength, and aesthetics—whether you're just starting out or already elite.
